Thanks Damian. So since I could not get it to scrape correctly no matter what name I gave the folder, I just used "Life" and renamed all of my episodes S01E01 etc. Luckily the NBC series had 10 episodes. I then went in and manually changed the titles, artwork and show information to what was on thetvdb. Letting it scrape as the wrong life at least gave me the structure and I was able to manually do it from there.

Why don't you try to recreate my solution for scraping "Doctor Who 2005" correctly? Call your folder: Life.2009

Highlight the folder in the "To scrap" section and in the bottom left corner type (including quotation marks) "Life 2009" and hit the scrap button. This will correctly pick up the right series for you. You probably don't even need to do the folder rename.

For Brothers and Sisters I struggle, since it keeps picking up the 1979 version. Bizarrely this is the opposite of what used to happen when trying to scrap Doctor Who...

Yeah. I was using the little box rather than renaming the folder for most of the name combinations but I didn't try using a period between the name and date or using quotes. I may give that a shot.

This didn't work. Not a big deal though since I just did it all manually but I did follow your instructions and it gave me the same Life NBC series again.

Same for me, scrap by tvdb-id will be the solution, but that's not implemented (yet)

Don't use a period when you enter it. I tried it with a dummy folder called Life.2009 in my main TV folder. Then I hit Scan whereupon Life.2009 appears in the To Scrap section.

I highlighted that line item. In the entry box bottom right I told it to scrap for "Life 2009" (note the quote marks and no period). Hit the Scrap button (not scrap all).

Voila I get Life 2009 with Sir David Attenborough in my Zappiti TV folder.

thanks for great software!!

but any good solution for "movie-series", like james bond with more than twenty movies, or star wars and so on? It would have been great to make a "main" folder, like tv-shows.

I did exactly what you said and it pulled the Life NBC series. I wonder if we are on different versions of zappiti. A guy earlier in the thread said it used to scrape fine but he had to rebuild his zappiti database and it no longer scraped for him.

If I understood you correctly, you want an icon on the main Zappiti screen that allows you to go directly to Bond movies (for example). If that is it, you can do the following:

In Zappiti on the PC:
1. Create a "James Bond" category
2. Assign all the Bond movies to that category

then:

On the Dune with Zappiti's main screen showing:
1. Click on the Categories/genre Zappiti icon on the right
2. Move the selection to the Bond category so it is highlighted
3. Push the Pop Up Menu button on the Dune remote
4. Chose "Add to Main Screen".

You should then have the Bond category icon on your main Zappiti screen.

If you do this with a lot of movies series, your main screen will get cluttered. In that case it might be better to just use the Categories/genres icon to display the various categories, including any new ones you add.

Edit: another alternative is to create a Bond "group" and assign all the Bond movies to that group.
