Export to Dune needs to be fixed
Did you go to Dune menu from Dune, not through network. Same as you would play movie with Dune on your TV. Just go to HD or USB stick and then delete or format.

I turn on the Dune, browse to the NAS, select the _Zappiti folder and hit Delete.

After I canned that I did it directly on the NAS through the Synology file manager. Still took about 2 hours but not as bad.

At around 4:30pm I started a fresh export. 1120 movies, 113 TV shows, 6014 episodes. It's 9:50pm and it's still doing an export. Good lord.

database-2.3.1099.0.db is 164MB.

I just can't fathom this Zappiti .

Just got my Dune D1 installed and I can see my videos and music on my network and play them from the Dune so I thought I'd install Zappati - one of the many reasons I bought the Dune.

However, it's been a nightmare. I tried and failed, went with Yadis which I failed at so now I'm back with Zappiti and need help.

I have read Damians guide but seem to be doing something wrong as when I perform a scan all my videos 'fail' so-to-speak. I don't know what to do and having read so much on Zappiti I'm overloaded.

My video and music files are on my Qnap TS-109 and connected to the Qnap is a 2TB USB disc with more music and videos. I have separated the videos in to Movies and TV Shows too. This means I have files named Movies and TV Shows on both the Qnap and the USB disc - is that OK to do ?

Zappiti does seem slow on my laptop. For example when I click 'configure' it is sluggish when opening.

I have pointed Zappiti to where my files are which at the moment consist of 4 folders named QMultimedia/Movies, USBDisc1/Movies, QMultimedia/TV Shows and USBDisc1/TV Shows. I believe the individual files are correctly labelled as per instructions by Damian.

I then hit 'scan' and that is when I run into a brick wall the files all 'fail' and I don't know what to do next ? Please help, I have tried my best .

Files? Or do you mean Folders? Files should always have the correct title (For example: Game of Thrones S01E03)
Structure could be:
-QMultimedia
--TV Shows
---Game of Thrones
----Season 1
-----Game of Thrones S01E03

Qmultimedia/tv shows/green wing/s01e01,s01e02,s02e01,s02e02 etc
You only need one folder (green wing) then rename your rips to above.
Can you post a screen shot of your folder path and absolute paths or at least write them out to see if they are ok.
I ould also attach the 2tb hdd direct to the dune and use A.P.storage_name://dune/hdd/tv etc.

I'm not allowed to post attachments .

I think I am getting confused again. Right, this is the way I list my videos at present;
QMultimedia
-TV Shows
--Green Wing - Series 1 (episode 1, episode 2 etc).

So all episodes for series one are in one folder and labelled as 'episode 1' 'episode 2' etc. So now I need to re-label all my videos as s01e01 etc ?

As for the folder path, I hope this is the correct answer;

y:\movies

smb://192.168.1.101/USBDisk1/molvies

z:\movies

smb://192.168.1.101/Qmultimedia/movies

Where z and y are the Qnap and USBDisk respectively.

If anything I have written is incorrect it's only because I'm still learning.

You need to rename each episode to the following:

S = Season
01 = First Season
E = Episode
01, 02, 03 = Episodes in the season in order they were broadcast

So your first season episode one will look like this:

S01E01

You can add description either in front or after the SXXEXX and it will still scrape.

Thanks haloguy628. Oh dear, that is seriously not good....but good that I now know. It's going to be a long night. What about films, how should they be named ?

For example if the film is City of Ember I have it called City of Ember - is this correct ?

Yes you name the file, and the folder if you have each movie in a separate folder, same as the movie. No underscores or dashes between words.

Here is how I have it set up on my server.

File structure for Movies

File structure for TV Shows

When you start setting up Zappiti it may get frustrating, but persist and ask questions. The effort is well worth in the end as Zappiti is highly visually modifyable and works very well.
