Happened to me a while back took me ages to realise the "file format not supported" was because of permissions and not because the file format was not supported.

Don't have a NAS. my set up is a Dune HD Duo with 2 HDD's installed on it, plus 2 external HDD's connected to the dune via USB. Everything has worked before so don't know what's going on. The tv show folders are on 2 locations, one one external drive and on one of the drives on the dune. The only difference between these two folders and the others is that I cannot add the tv show ones unless I map the drives on my PC.

I don't understand. I had to map my drives to get Zappiti to work. When they were mapped Zappiti renamed them for me and that was it. I didn't have to set an absolute path or anything, just point zappiti to where my Movies and TV Shows were - Movies in the Dune internal HDD and TV Shows in the USB HDD. You don't need your PC on to watch anything .

I know. Doenst make any bit of sense! If I add a folder to Zappiti I cannot see the Dune under the network in zappiti. The only way I can see my stuff is when I map the HDD's both external and ones on the Dune, to my PC. ONLY then can I see them show up in Zappiti. Now I will tell you that since I used Zappiti a long time ago, I set it up back then and everything worked fine. But now since I had to readd all my tv shows, its been a huge headache because I cant add it like it should be added and then I get the ERROR: FORMAT NOT SUPPORTED error when I try to play a tv show through zappiti. So, double whammy!
all my other folders are on zappiti like this:
\\DUNE\My_Book_2_8810b69a10b68ea6\Movies
storage_uuid://8810b69a1068ea6/Movies
But since I cant add my tv shows without mapping a drive, they have been added like this:
Y:\TV Shows
storage_uuid://W_TV_Shows\TV Shows
About ready to pull my hair out on this one!

Yes, I am, but this screen is on my PC. The export looks the same, though.

W_TV_Shows is not a uuid so that URL is never going to play from the Dune.
I guess you fix this using absolute path? I'm not a Zappiti user, but you want that last URL to be storage_name or storage_label instead of storage_uuid.

Just thinking out loud.
Do you think the problem is with Zappiti or the Dune Duo ? Do you use a firewall/anti-virus software and have you tried disabling them ?
What about the firmware for your Dune, is it current ?
http://dune-hd.com/firmware/hdduo/
Maybe try a 'soft reset' ?
When you say;
storage_uuid://W_TV_Shows\TV Shows
It looks odd to me, you have two items named TV Shows .
Mine is like this;
Y:\TV Shows
storage_name://STORAGE_8943a/TV Shows
EDIT: Sorry ScottJ97, I was typing my reply before I saw your post .

Is the \ tv shows a mistake? If not change to /tv shows if this dosent work then try storage name as this is used for hdds attached to the dune
Can you post a screen capture?

Re: Zappiti : Another Dune software announced by HDLand
Ok I ended up changing the absolute path to storage name instead of the uuid and its working. This is strange because I have used yaDIS for a long time and that is set up as uuid as the path. Extremely confusing if you ask me. Either way there has got to be a way to manually add your folders to Zapptit other than relying on a wizard, like before. Plus the zappiti folks have got to fix the bug of the dune player not showing up on the network on zappiti!

you tell zap in the configuration menu where your hdd will reside and zap enters the absolute path,very handy,in the old days you had to pick the AP yourself and fill in the paths.

Re: Zappiti : Another Dune software announced by HDLand
How do people transfer files to their Dune, with the Dune on or off (IE not in standby) ? Same question for exporting Zappiti to Dune - I'm having some weird problem, possibly it's the Dune player .
