What is the error message you get? Is it because of the SMB share limit? If so, as I explain on my wiki, there are several potential solutions. I think the easiest in your case will be to change the way the Dune accesses the index, from SMB to NFS.
First make sure your NAS has NFS enabled. Then follow the instructions in post 3841 above to make a favorite for the index.
Once you start browsing the index using NFS, everything should work fine.

having installed the latest firmware 5.3.5 I can see that on the ReadyNas Dashboard that NFS is enabled.
But within zappiti how did you configure the media folder paths? Where do you export the DB (is database the same as index?)

Post 3841 refers to how to make a network short cut switching from the SMB to NFS. that I can do and it works. However once I access this folder which contains the Zappiti database, and chose a film to play I get the URL error.
It looks as if the Dune does not understand where to search for the media.

Now you're on to the next problem: Absolute Path. In Zappiti there's a way to tell it how the Dune should access each share. Evidently you have this set incorrectly.
If you poke around in the Zappiti index (aka database, I guess?) you should find a dune_folder.txt for each movie, each with a media_url pointing to the file. Copy & paste one of those media_url lines here and we can help diagnose.

It looks something like this : media_url=nfs://192.168.0.4/Disc2/Films/Real steel.mkv

Hi Scott, whilst going through another post on the forum ( http://www.mpcclub.com/forum/archive...p/t-27447.html) I found my solution on post dated from 23-09-11, 20:31 from minimeh!
what was wrong in my path was that I wrote like this :
nfs://NAS IP/Disc1/Films
whilst I should have written it like this :
nfs://NAS IP:/Disc1:/Films
Now everything works perfectly.
Thanks for your time and help!

I suspect you have flaky NFS links. You need two colons in that URL: one after the host name and one after the share name.
Edit: just saw your next post -- looks like you found that on your own.

Re: Zappiti : Another Dune software announced by HDLand
After using Zappiti for over a year I have a few problems all of a sudden.
I added a new external hard drive and went in to Zappiti config to add it. I saw the latest version now has an easy way to map Zappiti to a networked external drive attached to my Dune. I thought, great, this will be much easier than the old manual method.
I went through the steps, went to select Dune/the new hard drive and Zappiti can't see my network. Every other program that can drill down to my network on my computer has no problem seeing my network, but with Zappiti my network just is not available.
Here is a screen grab of what I see in Zappiti config and what windows explorer shows: http://screencast.com/t/JnEJCGRnmKq
Anyway ideas on how I can make Zappiti see my network?

Re: Zappiti : Another Dune software announced by HDLand
Hi,
latest version 2.4.18 . I hope they fixed the broken export of .16.
ATTENTION! It does not export at all on my old setup!

For some reason the Dune wont show, you have to map the drive or revert to
an older verson to scrape.
