Just found some interesting Cebit 2010 news for you.
It looks like Asus will be introducing a new player into the scene very soon.
The newly announce EeeMedia will be launched at the end of april with an estimated price tag of around €200,-.
Housing a Samsung S5PV210 Cortex A8 ARM processor clocked at 800mhz this will be something we haven't seen so far in the scene. Really looking forward to a MPC review of this unit.
Not only is this media player for media but Asus implemented webbrowsing support as well.
This is something we see in the current generation as well, tho so far it's all very rudimentary.
Let's hope the guys from Asus will step it up a notch. At least they are stating that it supports flash 10.1 wich is a huge step forward.
The OS will be a form of embedded linux wich Asus already used for their netbooks.
So the performance impact on the system will be very small.
Some specs so far :
Samsung S5PV210 Cortex A8 ARM processor
512 Mb DDR2 Ram
10/100Mbit wired
802.11n-wifi
2,5 inch HDD
HDMI ( don't know version yet but i think it's safe to assume 1.3a )
Composite out
Maximum power consumption of 10W ( damn thats low )
Some screenies for you as well :
