Hi all,
Why does nobody ever talks about the archos av400 ?
It's a TV recorder, an mpeg4 player and it's portable ?

Is it bad in reality ?
Does anybody has experience with this device ?
It sure looks cool

I see it as an alternitive to the kiss dp588

It is nice toy.

But:

It is not a DVD Player. it some type of hand held computer, palm type.

It should be within the gadgets area.

It cost between 600 to 800 Euro which is not cheap for such toy.

It is not DP-558 substitute, it is something else.

I have a PM320 portable MP4 recorder from Momitsu.

it can record directly from my TV, of camrea, or tv-out
makes MP4 files and also plays music and pictures.
Very sharp screen, looks like ipod.

yes! finaly someone else with a pm320, hopefully you will know this answer, how do i get bass boost, and is there any possible way to get the musci volume louder because it dosn't go that loud.

We would have more on MPC about Archos if they:

- Would care replying to our mails
- Would provide a sample for review

Both things they did not and we contacted germany and UK for this.
Archos is not a responsive company at all... I guess they don't care about
25.000 customers more or less

best way to check is looking at the reviews. They used to have a lot but the
last one dates from 2004... I guess their attitude cossed more damage
then good. They have a name on the big International sites to be
uncooperative and they surely did make that name here with us. We don't
intend to beg for a sample... About 10 mails is enough... after that, even i
give up and go on with the rest.
