HMR fails to start after deleting a file
My HMR-700A hangs on the initial blue screen with the blue and the red (record) leds turned on.
I copied a file from my PC to the FAT partition of the internal sata drive of the HMR through the HMR interface.
Then I connected my PC with the HMR through NDAS, I copied the same file in the NTFS partition and I deleted the file I previously copied in the FAT partition through the NDAS connection.
I played the file and all seemed to be ok.
Then I powered off the HMR (after shutting it down) but when I turned it on again it hanged on the initial blue screen.
I tried several times with the same result.
I disconnected the internal drive and the HMR starts with no problems.
I connected the HMR to my PC through USB and I can see both FAT and NTFS partitions, all files are there and play fine on my PC.
I tried chkdsk on both partitions: NTFS was ok, but in the FAT it found lost chains.
Then I tried chkdsk /F to fix errors and after that there were 2 more files, the sum of the size of these files was about the same of the file I previously deleted).
I tried to delete these files, but the HMR still hangs.
I don't know what else I could try, except copy all the files somewhere, re-format the internal drive and copy back the files.
If it's possible, I'd like to avoid this, since both FAT and NTFS partitions (and the files in them) seem to be ok.
Can someone please help me?
Is there a way to avoid drive formatting?
What did I do wrong and I what should I do to prevent this in the future?
Thanks in advance
