Hello, i flash my egreat s-2 with c-200 fw(Firmware version : 02-02-100428-19-POP-408-000),now player doesnt work at all,no hd sound,freeze sometimes,so i just wanna back to previusly fw.Also i have just bluraydisk first page,not popcorn logo page.
On setup when i tried to upgrade firmware it wont open files on usb stick.
Egreat forum doesnt work,also hdmei.com not responding for tutorials,so i m hopeless.
Please some help.

How do you flash the S2 ?

I think you've mistaken in the process ...

You said its in bluray logo after boot up ..

If you wanna back to original S2 firmware its abit difficult to do.

Hi,

I am in the same situation. I started changing to PCH C200 from egreat Eg-S5 and I am stuck with the FW in the Bluray FW. When trying to continue updating from USB, nothing happen, player restarts in the same meniu. Please give me some hints how to continue or return to original FW.

Please be sure tu use a FAT 32 foramted USB dongle.

problem is revert to original fw from popcorn hour c200 fw... not working as usual...

you can revert to original fw, it is not impossible, but it is a very difficult procedure. one of my friends done it and i will ask him to describe it here. you can yet ask the moderator on the web site i referred to in my original message link.

I have the same problem, the upgrade failed and the player is now stuck as a "Bluray" player and will no longer upgrade or downgrade the firmware. The menus work ok but the player cannot read the firmware files. If I try to upgrade it just reboots.

Any help appreciated.

I did find a set of instructions on the Sigma Player website http://www.sigmaplayer.com/viewtopic...st=0&sk=t&sd=a that does appear to be the answer but its far beyond my capabilities (and the Google translation from Russian does not help).

Anybody able to restore and upgrade my S5, for a fee of course?!

I tried contacting Futeko from whom I bought the S5, they have fixed S5's for other people before but they are not answering their emails for some reason.

I had this problem and it went well after I checked the format of my USB stick.
Initially was on NTSF and could not go beyond the bluray menu, despite the fact I could browse the USB stick. Once I re-formated to FAT 32 it went forward and started to load PCH FW. I hope it will help.

Adrg, thanks for that. Unfortunately it didn't work, the S5 just does not recognise these files (or anything else other than media files).

However, I have had some partial success, I've managed at long last to get hold of the EGreat S2 Recovery Instructions (also covers S5 and A1080). Ive attached the instructions below.

Problem is that the EGreat FTP server is down (has been for a month or so) therefore I can't download the necessary software S2_SMP8643-0406.rar , if anyone has a copy of this please could they upload it or link to it .
