Unhappy Re: Dune and 2.5 Tb & 3 Tb HDD

Yes, they should do as soon as possible and for supporting this i registered here in my distress.
Have seen a first report on amazon about incompatibility of seagate goflex 3TB.
I have the same problem with seagate 3tb on usb. Isos arent working, the playback stops after a few seconds without any comment. Tried everything described above without success.
But for fun: tried to play the isos on seagate 3tb (connected with usb to dune) via network smb, it works..... but stuttering heavily.
Are there any news about solution in next firmware? Should i wait or should i send back my new seagate goflex 3TB?

With the latest firmware on my Dune HD D1, i was able to format my 3TB WD Green and use it completely without issues.
You must format the HDD inside the Dune first beofre you copy stuff over to test.

I found this out the hardway after copying loads of stuff over.
You don't get issues until you get close to half capacity used.

Unfortunately my 3TB WD is USB external and it did not work although I formated it via Dune... looks like it works with SATA but not through USB... Regards.

Yes, have the same problems with 3TB, beginning at about a few Gigas fullfilled, with I/O errors or stop - all connected via USB, whether formated with Dune or PC, NTFS or ext3 - it doesnt matter. And yes, naturally with the latests firmware.

So my conclusion too: Dune doesnt work with large disks like 2,5Tb or 3TB and most likely even bigger, if they are connected via USB - until now. Maybe there comes a solution with new firmware, but it still remains to be seen.

@BamBamMickey: how did you connect your disk? And what happens after you get closed to half capacity used?

Problems related to the Linux kernel need update this
I think the Linux kernel not support 3tb hard from usb
all units with new chipset only support 3tb from sata
Firmware developers cant fix this now

My conclusion depends on that i read about many problems with 3tb (not sure, that i understand them all) and no potential solution for ours (except problems related to the usb controller perhaps), like exclusion principle, so the post of stbxxx finally looked reasonable to me.
So i have no links for your intention, sorry, and I am a complete layman in linux compared with you, but i think its not impossible, that it has to do with Linux Kernel version and chipset. Some manufacturer of 3tb usb disks have in their requirements the number of linux version, e.g. Verbatim: kernel version 2.6. But i have no idea that it helps. Lets ask stb2xxx.
