So i have no links for your intention, sorry, and I am a complete layman in linux compared with you, but i think its not impossible, that it has to do with Linux Kernel version and chipset. Some manufacturer of 3tb usb disks have in their requirements the number of linux version, e.g. Verbatim: kernel version 2.6. But i have no idea that it helps. Lets ask stb2xxx.
@stb2xxx
Would be nice if you have some links or info about this?

Re: Dune and 2.5 Tb & 3 Tb HDD
New firmware looks promising for this. From the changelog:
- Fixed a problem with the inability to play the files with some USB HDD volume over 2TB Hard Drive Seagate FlexGo.

That link has nothing to do with the question he asked. He wants to know what kernel version the Dune is running.
Unfortunately I can't answer as I'm running an ancient firmware (if it ain't broke, don't fix it).

If the answer is, indeed, in that thread (which it isn't), you're going to have to be more specific. In fact if you've found the answer in that thread, why not just post the answer here, instead of sending us all on a wild goose chase?
