Re: HDI Firmware Update (110127_2105_beta)
Has anybody tried to run a photoslideshow in combination with playing music (which should be possible now)?
I only managed to do this when photos and music are in the same folder.
Unfortunately my photos and mp3's are stored in different folders on a NAS.
Are there any suggestions how to do this?

I guess we are talking about a "source direct" mode. I have not updated to the new firmware yet but I don't expect it will address this issue since it wasn't listed in the update notes.

This is something I have been asking for since I got the base 3.0. Source direct mode would take this player to another level. You can see the deleterious effects of the conversions in a chroma burst pattern or a chroma 1:1 test pattern. The DUNE loses details in the conversions taking place inside the player. This is also how they wind up with wrong color space errors on source material... unnecessary conversions...
If you compare the image from an Oppo BDP to the DUNE the Oppo is superior with real world video.

Re: HDI Firmware Update (110127_2105_beta)
The problem of not being able to choose the default language for menus, subtitles and audio from DVD and BLU-RAY persists and it seems that they are unable to solve.
Any player has this option cheaper.
Hopefully, the Russians included in any future firmware..
Disappointed with HDI Dune.

Re: HDI Firmware Update (110127_2105_beta)
Hi,
1)
I am still missing a homogeneous user interface in the Dune.
The dialog is still different bewteen playing DVD and playing Blu-ray. (Fx Search, Info, subtitles shift....)
This is in daily operations confusing. User interface must be aligned so it is undependent of movie sources.
2)
No bookmark on blu-ray, but s working on DVD. I know HDI has announced difficulties in implementing this feature.., but other products do support this feature.
3) .AVI videos generated by Nikon cameras are not supported.
Regards

Yes, the box can play music during photoslide. But music must also in my setup be placed in the same folder as the photos.

Re: HDI Firmware Update (110127_2105_beta)
this is not necessary. If you read the post with firmware well it says that you must have the playlist (i.c. a .m3u or .pls file) in the same directory as the photos. I did this and it works well !!!!

Re: HDI Firmware Update (110127_2105_beta)
What about annoying "your blu-ray player requires an update in order to play this disc"? Today I have tried to play Marmaduke (2010) image and mine Dune HD Base 3.0 (with very latest 110127_2105_beta) shown it!
Now I need to play it as single file without being able to see menu, supplements, nothing!
Do we need newer SDK from Sigma being implemented into HDI products?

Ok, but probably I'm doing something wrong.
When I put a playlist in the photo directory, the system tries to find the path in that same photo folder and responds with "path/file could not be found".
Can you show us an example of a playlist that points to another folder (btw. my folders are located on a NAS and I'm using NFS to connect).
