Default Are there any other players with DP-558 features?

Hi all.
I?m a bit confused. There are quite a lot of DVD players out there with divx support, and quite a lot of DVD players with HDD recorder. But why are there no models with both except from kiss DP 558??
Or have I missed something?
Does it exist any competitors to the kiss, with the same feature list? DVD, HDD recorder, divx, LAN..??

Hi-Jack's answer is the reason, why KiSS is still alive. If they wouldn't make such things like 'worlds first DVD-player supporting DivX' they would already be dead for a long time.

Unfortunately, they love more to invent new things then take care on the already sold one.

Yeah, but then it obviously misses the most important feature (IMO) of the 558; streaming

With the possibility to have a 300 GB harddrive in the Sigmatek PVR 800 (aka Auvion PVR-1001x) you really won't need to stream from your PC...

And the network connection is substituted by an USB2 connection (at 480 Mbps, in theory)

@coireland:
Do you own a 'Sigmatek PVR 8000'?

I do not agree !
Yeah the DP-558 has ist faults, but so has every other player.
It is the best player around that CAN do TV recording and DIVX playback.

A HTPC works fine............If you like PC's very much..........
I dont like my video player worrying about anti-virus updates and installing security patches when i want to player to just shut down.

PHILIPS / SAMSUNG all player with NO software support or updates, when you complain that a file is not playing "please send the player in for repair" id the only answer.

The KISS DP-558 (for me) just works fine, and maybe even better after the next update
