Question Dune Hd Smart D1 buffering problem with internal HD

My Dune HD Smart D1 doesn't play DVD or X264 movies (MKV) the way it should. They play well for 3 seconds and after that the picture slows down to a slideshow of frames.

I have a WD Caviar Green WD20EARS 2TD drive build in my Dune HD Smart D1. The drive formated by my Dune and I put some movies on the HD. I have my Dune connected to a beamer thru AV connector. So that's SD

When I start a DVD or MKV and the movies starts slowing down it seems that there's buffer errors and the data speed is only 3.1 mb/s. I tried all jumper settings on the HD. Nothing seems to work.

When I start a Xvid file it plays flawless and there seems to be a dataspeed of 2.3 mb/s. So I think somehow my Dune can't read fast enough from my HD.

Can anyone help me solve this problem?

This i think will help you: http://community.wdc.com/t5/Desktop/...ight/true#M959

I found out that it is a known problem - there are numerous reports around. The Green Caviar puts its heads into parking position after 8 seconds idle time. Now when the OS periodically performs a disk operation the heads will be permantly parked and un-parked on an low loaded system which causes the load cycle count to explode, So it is more a desktop than a server problem. There are romours that the Green Caviar is advertised as desktop product ...

I wounder what will happen when I return the drive to WD for replacement in a few month when it will surely have failed!

Green Caviar sucks!

I have the Green Cavier with the other problem mentioned, BD not playing well and stopping. Could this be the problem?
