I was looking for a goal to learn me the Java language, so I decided to make a WYSIWIG dune_folder.txt editor. Here is the result:
New Version 1.5 (January 22nd 2013)
DuneEditor v1.5
Mac Version 1.5 (January 22nd 2013)
DuneEditMac v1.5

It is meant to be used as a postprocessor to for example DuneExplorer (I tested my application with the dune_folder.txt generated by DuneExplorer).
Just unpack the zip file in a folder and run DuneEdit.exe (windows only). You might need to update to the latest JRE version (6, update 27).
First open the dune location with the toolbar button. After that select a directory in the tree panel and the image shows how Dune would display the screen.
The program then allows you to visually edit the dune_folder.txt settings for box location and size (by ways of a resizeble/draggable rectangle), padding, number of rows and columns and the scale factor of the icons (scale cannot be set individually, only for all of them together).
The color button will switch between black and white for the resize rectangle. Snap allows you to only step dragging and resizing in increments (visual presentation is not correct, and probably never will).
Things still to do:
• Support for Captions on/off
• Center button
• Support for default (-1) box settings
• Other good suggestions
