Looking to buy Dreambox DM 800 SE HD and use them as media centre,with 1 or 2 TB hard disc to make storage for :

- movies ,HD and full HD (MKV and similar formats)
- music ,FLAC and similar
- photos...
- IPTV and internet radio

Question is , with new processor in this SE model he should quickly and easily play any kind of HD of full HD video format (MKV and similar staff) and of course any kind of music formats (FLAC…), hope I’m right about this???
All this is to save some space and make my home theatre system smaller, any experience and suggestions is helpful.

Hi,
wrong. The amount of file formats is very limited. You should be prepared to convert some/most/all of your files to a format die 800se supports. This kind of STB is not a replacement of a decent media player staring at €50.

Hi,
h264 and MPEG works. Some AVIs files will work. So if your files are h264 it will work.
