Exclamation DviCo TVIX company R.I.P

There's not much news going on lately and now we have some, it's just plain bad. Not unexpected to come eventually, we regret to announce DVICO TViX is no longer among us... A lot of people out of the good old days have been fired or resigned with the Company and MINEVOX not pumping the product as they could / should have now opened the road for DviCo's burial. With the latest news floating in, we inform DViCo customers to no longer purchase products in the TViX line as support and updates will remain going downhill from here... (Mainly selling stock is what will happen now...)

Messages come in that sales, engineering and test teams have left the building and possibly only the name "TViX" could raise an interest from another company, however taking over the products and development will not be an option (nor do we believe this would stand a chance). As such, chances are slim ever there will be good support, decent updates or new TViX products coming by Minevox.

Rumor has it, the issues are caused by huge charge backs for licensing not paid were these were due making the expense for reviving DviCo TViX lines impossible. With a limited portfolio of outdated products riddled with issues and an X-Roid A1 Android device that doesn't take you anywhere near it's target, the cards are dealt as there will be no more updates for X-Roid either, despite the product having only recently launched. The only department left is the "STB" department... working on set top boxes.

For support
Several more serious distributors have announced already a container to support DviCo TViX customers that purchased their units via the resellers affiliated with these distributors. Chances are many will be left out in the cold once the device will fail for whatever reason and the ever so hopeful corrections made in updates... oh well... they will never come.

Hi-Jack, Happy belated new year and how are you doing? The silence around here is deafening or is it me?
Any way good luck too you for the year ahead.

Unfortunately, it is not 1st of April
I have 1 M6600 and 2 N1, and they work very well for me and our needs at home.
But I am sad to hear this, when I bought my first Tvix, it was actually top of the pops......at that time.

from internal Tvix, several company contact taking all Tvix biz, if yes, its support seems go continuously, even somewhat possible of temporary stop. We all know Tvix refutation, hope everything clear soon. But I think, no reason to stop buying Tvix now.

Tvix (Dvico) dropped all support for the 6600 series and S1/N1 last October officially so it doesnt supprise me that the company couldnt exist just on the failed Xroid A1 and B1 venture.

Tvix reputation for the 12 months before hand was shocking with there failure to correct any of the on going firmware issues. While many customers had no faults those with faults had no avenue for correction.

They tried to provide more features on the firmware like torrenting without fixing some major bugs.

While there 6500 series seems so work forever the 6600/N1/S1 doesnt look so fortunate.

Goodbye to a company that over chraged and gave poor service but always had great potential.

very sad given the M6500 is so simple, not overloaded with crap and the only media player that ever just did what I wanted - play movies and music and let me be a little creative with backgrounds. Looks like the next step is Dune Pro if they ever get that sorted at a price I can afford

Hi sonofzorro, too bad about the silence huh... also means not much interesting going on to make me make time for it We hope 2012 will become a better year but this is doubtful as latest rumors have it that also SMP8910 is suspended and will never launch (in favor of yet another chip).

For TViX, it was to be expected... the glory they had in the days being the first to support BD Lite followed by the mess with 6500 USB issues and then lacking and failing updates could not continue... With Android they tried but got passed by Iconbit and then some in functionality and design quite rapidly (as in DvICo requiring to manually install apps transferred by FTP were others could do it automatically).

There's also a lot of issues in licensing according to rumors...
Either way, the loss of many people and only STB department continued to work is "leaked" from inside the company to me directly and even though the site is silent, I still value customer information as much as I did in the old days. Hence, i came out my winter sleep
