Ok development on mediaplayers has been pretty slow. But now there are a whole bunch of realtek based 3D mediaplayers out.
So how about some thoughts, reviews etc.?

I really hope this forum will come up to speed again.
Egreat is still in the Sigma section - why?

It would be a shame if this place would simply go to sleep. It has always been my primary source of news on new developments - but not in the past months.

cant remember the last review that was done, even the news i am finding myself going to others forums to get news i.e news on dune going to avforum where they have one of their distributors and keeps us up to date on progress.

well, I look at this forum once a week, and with all the new stuff around I am disappointed too about the forum: No tests, no real news - it seems to go downhill.
A shame after even contributing to keep it going.

Especially since this is the only forum, I have ever paid for.
I gladly paid, since writing reviews etc. is a lot of work.

But, that is also the reason why expect something.

There are no Buyins, or anything else anymore - that is not good.

Latest Newsletter September 2011, sort of says it all. BTW only 2 in 2011...

Absolutely agree! There are new player out like the C-300 and yet no review. This is a shame because I used to come here for some of the latest news but there has been no updates in ages.

How about few more sections.

1) User Reviews section
2) HTPC section (I know its not a standalone media player buts its a very big market to discuss and discover)
3) section for traders for special discounts and group buy-ins

Nothing since then. Its unfortunate, one of my favourite forums, but now its only worth visiting maybe once per month.

Those would be pretty good sections to incorporate.

I think, as Hi-Jack has himself alluded, the media player/streamer world has slowed down quite a bit in the past year or so. I think that's why this place has slowed down. Still, a few reviews every now and then would be nice, as new players are being released.

Site will revamp as soon as there is good stuff coming up.
I will work incorporating the proposals but reviews will be done only when it's worth the time to make the. Most products released the same with a little added CPU or some enhanced tricks that don't break any pots...

early March will launch MPC properly again and i keep watch on adding the proposed features.
