Default FTP upload problem

Hi
My 558 has been working perfectly since I got it (6 months)
Since last weekend however, I have lost the ability to FTP upload to the players hard drive.
When I activate the link I can view the full contents of the hard drive and I can transfer files from the player to my PC but not vice versa.
The Kiss PC link system also seems to be working fine - I can watch videos stored on my PC's hard drive through the 558 via this method.
I normally simply use Internet Explorer for file transfer but since the weekend I've tried Flash and Bulletproof but to no avail.
The only error message I get is when using IE as the other two simply report a failed transfer.
The IE error message reads " FTP Folder Error - An error occurred copying a file to the FTP server. Make sure you have permission to put files on the server. Details - The connection with the server was reset"
I've checked the settings menu on the 558 and everything seems to be as it should.
Any advice gratefully received.

Mike

Are you sure you have "Read/Write" access enabled in your options ?
Anyway try to "reboot" the player (by power off) , try to reset the settings and if nothing helps - reinitialize and format HD.

Thanks for your help.
Read/Write is enabled and I've tried rebooting.
I'll try what you suggested with the hard drive and see if that helps

Lord_Kiron

Reformatting the hard drive did the trick.
It meant copying all my video files to my PC then back again but well worth the effort.
I've lost count of the Emails I sent to Kiss and not one of their "experts" suggested this.
One Email on this forum and problem solved.
Many thanks

Mike
