Tetris - KML game in development
Hi,
My third and final game for the contest is a big favourite, and was a big challenge to bring to the stateless, static KML language. I don't think anyone has ever made tetris in PHP before in the world Don't expect any animation or anything, as this is not possible, but the fundamental tetris fun is here.
Anyway, this will have the usual standard game mode, with online scoreboards, and i'm hoping we'll have some fierce competition for the top 10.
For a screen shot, click www.movimu.com/kml/images/tetris.jpg
Unfortunately it won't be ready to the public for about 1-2 weeks.

Thanks for the offer, but i've already created my own php tetris engine... surely if we are entering games in the competition, it should be all our own code

Don't has to be like that...
It just needs to work on KiSS DP-5xx series
No matter what you port to KiSS is valid but if one uses code of someone else, it has to be approved and creditted!!
This contest was a combined effort of FcLage and mpeg-Playcenter to get more worth to the networked players which is succeeded big time.

If someone is using others code, then they clearly need to state this, and the judges have to take into account the lack of creativity in the submission...

yup... good idea... but then you also have a game like mine with 100% original hand-written code, but the level's I use are from someone else... the problem there is not a lack of creativity, but that all possible levels that are any fun have been created already, and if I would have to make my own levels there would never be that many different levels...

We don't validate on levels...
There's two different things...
Ported code to work on KiSS...
Own code for the game (even if pictures and so on are from another source will be considered as own development)

LOL ... I hope you will... otherwise playability of games will not really be judged... you should not only look if the game works on the DP-500, but also at design/playability/originality ... after all the most important thing is that the game is fun to play isn't it
