Btw: PixiesII I just saw this comments on Zensonic forums from one of their Beta testers:
Unfortunately there are a few borked files on the test disc. And a few that the chip-set/player will not support!

If the chip-set/player encounters such a file it can de-stabilise the player, causing lock-up!

There are actually 3No Vorbis in OGG samples on the test CD, AUD-4A, 4B and 4C. The Z500 can play AUD-4A and 4B but not AUD-4C (because it's a borked 6Ch sample). All my 6Ch Vorbis samples play fine!

By-the-way, there's also an FLAC sample on the disc, AUD-5D. The Z500 could have played this sample too if the files extension had read ".FLAC" instead of just ".FLA"
Care to comment ?

It's done.
N°1 !
But...
There are tests I have difficulties to check and validate, as it's not mentionned in the specs. So we have put NT or No until we get the firm confirmation of that.

For instance : menus and chapters in Divx6, MPC as audio, PCX as picture, progressive zoom (the others based on EM8620 can't), firmware update (not available yet ?)
Any clue or additionnal information is welcome, in order to have the most accurate results : it's important for the new n°1 ...

Waiting for these comments

And what about the tester clames that your file named wrongly ? (".FLA" instead of ".FLAC" ) ?

I asked Sagittaire. Waiting the answer.
But we have validated YES for that format (although normally we should keep all files in their original status - but if me made an obvious mistake, we have to accept it and be flexible).

Also, it's important to know if the MP3 5.1 etc... are read in 5.1 or 2.0
So for the moment we validated Partial. I know no player that can yet read MP3 surround on 6 channels.
I'd like the tester to come and discuss this, to have more accurate feedback.

I posted it so ask away.......

Which tests do you doubt ?

And the score would have been higher but some of the files on the CD dont show up eg OGG which the player definitly supports..

Hi,
thx for coming here.

Here are the tests where I need more information :
- OPT-1E Firmware update capable : is there an actual firmware available for download ?
- OPT-1G + OPT-3J : can the player make what we call a progressive zoom, i.e. the user can change the ratio in height and width independently and step by step (as for old Sigma Design chips ?)
- OPT-2B : 0 characters in filenames ?
- OPT-3D MP3 ID3 v2 Tag display : can you see the picture in the tags ?
- IMG-07 PCX files ? (the spec does not mention that)
- AUD-1C MP3 pro test : is the file read in 48 khz ? If not, the answer is Partial, all
- AUD-1D MP3 multichanel test : do you get 5.1 or 2.0 sound ?
- AUD-3C WMA9 Pro test : never seen a compatible player yet. Was your test actual test, or based on theoretical capabilities ?
- AUD-5C MPC : yes ?
- CONT-1F AVI subtitles test : do you see subtitles or not ? Your answer was Partial. It's normal to see the video, but if no subtitle is shown at all, answer is No
- CONT-1G/2G : does the player recognize chapters ?
- CONT-1F/2F : do see divx menus ?

That's it
-
Then, can you tell me all tests which are supposed to be compatible and which were not seen by the Z500 due to naming ?
