sporadical bluescreen during TV-recording
Since I upgraded my DP-558 with a 250 GB Samsung HDD I noticed four times a bluescreen instead of picture. The DP-558 doesn't record the video. I hear the audio of the recorded file and display counts up the time, but all I can see is the bluescreen. Two times video is gone away in the middle of the movie, the other two times there was no picture from the beginning.
If I delete these files, it goes very quick. Deleting a normal 1 1/2 h movie takes up to 10s. These files are away in 1-2s. Means the filesize is very small (have to check this with ftp before delete them).
May the larger HDD is the reason for that?
Does someone else noticed such bluescreen?

i never see a blue screen, but if the filesize is very small, scan your harddisk for errors.

I would like to do, but fsck-modul is not ready in new beta of stage2_RD_Part2. Do you know some "native" Linux-commands to do that?

I have had a few recordings like you describe - picture is only a blue screen. Once I was home when this happened, and I could hear the 558 was not sounding right. And the flipping line in the display flipped with approximately half speed.
I deleted the bad recording, and the next ones was fine. :P

Hi Christine,
these are good news Not for you, but I'm no longer alone
Exactly the same thing here: "dancing lines" are remarkable slower. The lines dances faster as the recording quality is higher. And in these cases the lines turns very slow and HDD makes weird noises.
I transferd one of these files with ftp. Movie lenght: 35 min --> filesize: 220 MB only sound recorded.

Good news to
So it should not be related to my upgraded 250 GB HDD AND it was "arte" here too! And last time it was "ZDF".
