They emailed me, that the Netzteil (PSU) "ACHME 561 B 01" is available for 41.65 Euro incl. taxes. Please visit

C15 has popped the top. The other 2 looks ok.
I've replaced C15 and C20. The C19 that I have was to big, so I didn't replaced it.
And until now it is working fine.
Thanks everybody!!

Mm.. why does mine break on page 13?!
And yes, my DP-558 broke down now, after years of errorless viewing.. (ok, HD failures, repaired by a checkdisc (0bytes recordings))

I'm on my way to the electronics shop here in Delft to buy the list of capacitors! Is there a layout for the PCB somewhere? I cannot find all the capacitors (yet) because of the large amount of glue..

Tnx, parts arrived yesterday, time to warm up the iron..

But what I mean is ta layout, thats more or less a (google)map of al the parts in their position, mentioning their polarity and stuff..
But I probably make one myself, and post it somewhere for future help of others searching Cxx..

After more than 3 years of 24/7 operation my DP-558 is also malfunctioning. My symptoms are similar but not exactly as the ones described here. The 558 is not dead but when I watch a recorded show everything works ok for 5-10 minutes. Then the image starts to deteriorate and after a few more minutes the 558 is dead. If I turn it off and restart it it later it does the same thing again. I opened the case and looked at the caps but could not see that any of them were defective. Nevertheless I (or rather my friend who is more handy than me...) replaced C15, C19 and C20 and a few of the other ones. But no improvement.
Just for fun we measured the temperature in different parts of the PSU and it seems that the coil that can be seen on the upper right below the text "REV" becomes very hot and at temperatures somewhere around 120 C the 558 dies.

Do you think replacing all the other caps will fix this or is it something else that is causing the excessive heat?

Thanks for any help!

hello guys,
my dp 558 is dead and thanks to your forum I managed to find the fault: is the cursed sg3842gd that it is no longer found.
I replaced it with a TL3842P as someone of the forum said that he had done, but unfortunately nothing to do, even if I tried to put R3 in parallel with R3A (in the first time) and I have removed R3A and in its place I soldered a piece of wire (in the second time)

I have just replace the capacitors!!!

I ask you to help you on how to do
thanks

I finally opened up my dp-558.

I can see som white gue(that is hard) by c4 and between c15 and c16, c17
also by c19.

Is this a sign of leakage or is it original?

Can anyone verify that c4 is 68μ/400V ?

My dp-558 is working some of the time

I saw another post stating that the gue was glue and not leakage.

I have now replaced c15, c19 and c20
Should I add glue myself?

Still have a problem although not with harddrive anymore.

Doesnt want to play any files from HD, well maybe I try a reinstall.
