Default DP-558 DVD drive dies slowly, any replacement suggestions?
My DVD drive in my DP-558 is having more and more problems. I want to replace it . I tried using an ASUS 616A drive, but the noise level of that drive gives it a very poor girlfriend acceptency factor. You can hear the drive from miles across town.....
Is there any news on a fixed speed firmware for that drive, or does anyone have a less noisy drive with good specs that does the trick? Please advise.

The drives in players are limited to a certain drive speed to kill the noise. Using any drive will have more noise...
