Default Possible to use USB HDD without connecting to server?

Hi all,

New around these parts but had my 1310 for a while not.

A friend is thinking about getting one but I'm unsure if you can browse the files on a USB HDD without being connected to the server?

Basically they want hi-def stuff without a hardwired network connection and wireless is generally too slow for hi-def TS files.

Any thoughts? Would try myself but no external HDDs.

Cheers

"You had a 1310 for a while not?"
"USB HDD without being connected to server?"

doesmn't make much sense but...

Using a USB HDD can be done by connecting the USB HDD to the Snazio
player, it will be able to playback HD content but keep in mind it remains
within limits.. (not too high bitrates, up to 15.000 should be ok)

Sorry first one should be 'now' and not 'not' Second makes complete sense but not if you take part of the sentence on it's own! 'A friend is thinking about getting one but I'm unsure if you can browse the files on a USB HDD without being connected to the server? '

Anyways cheers. I know you can connect a HDD but do I need the Snazio connecting to the server software in order to do it or can I pull the network cable so there's no server and then connect a USB HDD and use the files from that instead?

Thanks again!

Are you talking about a NAS drive? or a USB external drive?

You don't need the server software client or anything...
When the USB is attached to the Snazio, it wil use it withouth PC and
software directly...
